An Eagle Creek Trail Marathon report by Joe Fazzini
Volume 7, A Boomer’s Tail
Eagle creek mini marathon, you’re never too old to rock, climb over and roll.
I Finished the Eagle Creek mini in 2:47, 16th overall in my age group. It was a fantastic but tough event. I wished I had looked a cool as the marathon winner flying past me twice during the challenge. He had long brown hair that flew behind him, tats everywhere and fast a deer being chased by a bunch of guys cover in orange hunting vests. As I think back, 16th is awesome, there are 76,000,000 boomers in the US, at Eagle Creek that day only 15 had been faster. Boomer’s, we are a focused group and as I remember it, we are the generation who gave these youngster’s the chance to be cool. We gave cool the capital C!
PS, I had the chance to meet the deer like’s winner’s wife at the finished line snapping photos of his victory. What I can tell she is a very serious cyclist, I so glad boomers taught these kids what cool really is.
